Wins and Wrecks

Wasted a lot of time Saturday night – watched the mess called a “race” Turtles would have been more fun to watch. What a joke. Absolutely no racing involved. Just follow the leader with a few stupid wrecks thrown in to remove some of the competitors. Sure glad I didn’t have to pay to watch it. NASCAR should just save the money and draw winners out of a hat. Sure hope the Cup race tonight will be a little better.
Sunday was a quiet day. And a dry day as far as rain goes. 70% humidity though. We went into town for breakfast and for a Sunday morning the restaurant wasn’t very busy. Either everyone was sleeping in after the 4th or still on the road for vacation. Stopped at Wal*Mart for a few things, Then on home. Our friend Tom came over and visited for a while. The battery problem seems to be fixed – thank goodness.
Last night we watched the Women’s Soccer team win the World Cup. They sure started out with bang. Good for them. We got to watch the whole game as the NASCAR race was way rain delayed. I stayed up to watch the race. Bill shook his head, game me a “you’re crazy” look and went to bed. Again a horrible race – no real racing, just riding around wrecking each other. Because of persistence of his crew repairing damage and people being wrecked out in front of him, Kyle ended up 17 – not a good finish but at least he finished. Though he crossed the finish line completely wrecked. Horrific wreck at very end of race.  The #3 got airborne and hit the retaining fence and then by another car. There was very little of his car left intact – was sure glad to see him walk away. The race finally finished around 2:30 a.m. They need to stop having these plate races – someone is going to be killed.
So I think today in my schedule is a nap. Today we need to go to the post office to pick up our mail and see how we can arrange for it to be held until we get an address in Vegas. Also going by the house to drop a few things off and pick something up.

Saw her and her chicks strolling through the campground this morning.
Simple things keep us amused.
