Heading more south now

Tuesday p.m.
Last nights sunset - notice the winds whipping the clouds.
Staying for the night in Wellington, Kansas at a KOA – unless we get blown down the road.
The wind is really rocking Alfie – the awning over the big slide is really flapping around and making lots of noise. Hope it doesn’t tear off.  We are rocking so much Stanley (the satellite dish) keeps losing the signal. Grrrrrr. As near as I can tell checking the weather the wind is going to keep blowing another couple of days.
We have made some changes in our direction. Recalculation at work. Instead of going west out of Wichita we are instead heading more south towards Oklahoma City. Looking for warmer weather. The cold really bothers Bill’s leg. Do you think he was cold - beanie and gloves no less.
Not much in the way of scenery today - lots of flat land, farm land and short bushy trees. Read this in a magazine - it was written about Kansas by Wayne Fields " The prairie....makes pointless a rush to somewhere else and creates an overwhelming suspicion that there is nowhere else." Pretty good comment.
From Empoira, Kansas we took the Kansas Turnpike to here. Very nice road and not real expensive - $10.75 - for about 100 miles.
Getting on the Turnpike
Not much in the way of photos today - how many times can you post pictures of grass, harvested corn and fields with a few trees.
Did learn something new though - was checking the weather on the phone and noticed AN ALERT! It was for frost warning - but the interesting part was "Growing time ends Thursday morning." Hummm?
